Amal Al Gharaballi said her most important contribution to Kuwait society is to bring healthy ideas from China and other countries to the Gulf region.
Chinese medicine inspired her to become a nutritionist, as she accepted it from a philosophical point of view. This view opened her interest to the world of nutrition through a wider aspect that not a lot of people know.
She has written a book that shows how nutrition works as a whole system. The book she has written does not only show how food affects someone’s health, but also everything around a human being.
Working in a clinic for four years as a nutritionist helped her with writing her book. Within these four years, she had enough information that can be put in a book which can render a good source for people in need of medical and environmental advice.
What inspired Mrs. Gharaballi was medicine, she also stated “for me personally, my interest was medicine and how to deal with obstacles in one’s life, whether psychological or spiritual.”
While achieving her goal as an author and a nutritionist she had to go through many obstacles. Her greatest obstacle is raising 5 of her kids and also her grandchildren because family comes first. Another one of her obstacles was learning English, although she graduated from a government school, she put hard work into learning English and also graduated from Tufts University.
Mrs. Amal spoke about how the environment a person works around is very important. She prefers to work in a calm and serene environment in her private room surrounded by her books. During stressful moments, she calms herself down by yoga, and the repetition of some quotes that makes her calm again.
